Frequently Asked Questions

What’s different about LearnLemons compared to other entrepreneurship providers?

Our aim is to scale entrepreneurship programs in every school so that all students have equal opportunity. We have taught entrepreneurship at University, and have utilised our professional innovation networks to draw on the experiences of Australia’s best innovators.

I’m a teacher. How much work is needed for me to implement this at my school?

With the online format of the Unicorn Cup, students are able to work completely independently. There is no supervision for the activities required and students submit through the website each week. You simply need to register student teams. Teachers are always copied into any individual communication that goes out to students, such as feedback on tasks.

How much time is needed by students for the Unicorn Cup?

We leave this vague so that students can put in as much effort as what suits them. Most students will spend 3 hours a week on the challenge including viewing the materials.

Can my school enter more than 1 team?

Yes. We leave the program open to years 9-12. Whilst we prefer students enter in teams of 2-5, we are able to pair singular students that would like to be involved with other singular students from other schools if needed.

‘I’m unsure of my idea and don’t think it’s good enough.’

Always have the courage to test your idea. The classic example is finding 999 ways how not to make a lightbulb. That being said, be flexible and ready to change your idea, because every start-up constantly reviews their value proposition.

When is my submission due?

Submissions are due each Friday at 5pm. If you are late, do not panic, just email Nicko.

My school loved the Unicorn Cup, how can we get more involved?

Thanks, we love your feedback! Please send Nicko an email at nick@learnlemons.com.au to organise an in-person workshop.
